Blacksmith's Apprentice
February 26 - May 28, 2019       Ages 11-15

Led by nature-connection mentor Allie Showalter and blacksmith Tod Kershaw

We're so excited to announce this next-level  challenge for returning students.  Blacksmithing Apprentices will split their days between two primary focuses:

  • Blacksmithing:  Learn the art of creating useful tools by heating metal in the forge and shaping it on the anvil.  Many techniques will be explored, and students will come home with hand-made items.
  • Nature-Connection:  Taking a break from the forge, students will get plenty of dirt-time in the forest deepening their Nature-Connection practices through stories, games, activities, challenges and exploration.

Happening on the same day, same time, same drop-off & pick-up at the Asheville School:

Tuesday Red-tailed Hawk

  • Acorns for ages 6-8
